Local Market Domination Checklist

Your roadmap to becoming the go-to branding photographer in your market!

I hosted an Instagram Live and shared the 5 ways I prep for my client’s branding shoot! I’ve given a ton of tips on how to prep your clients, but I’m excited to share how you can prep yourself!

Click below to watch the replay along with some Q&A!

Prefer to read instead of watch? I have a quick recap for you, boo! Here are the 5 ways I prep for each shoot:

 1. Review questionnaire & Pinterest board

I send the questionnaire and Pinterest board instructions as soon as my clients book and have them submit everything at least 30 days prior to the shoot! To prepare myself, I study the questionnaire and Pinterest board so I can get to know their brand and goals for the shoot! You can find my questionnaire in the shop!

2. Location Scout

I like to know where I’ll be shooting, what the lighting looks like, and what backdrops we have to choose from. I’ll either scout ‘virtually’ (viewing photos and videos of the location online or on social media) or if it’s convenient like a local coffee shop, I’ll pop in ahead of time!

3. Create and print out branding shoot template

I pull snippets from my clients’ questionnaire and screenshots from their inspiration board and create a beautiful and intentional Branding Shoot Plan! This will include their summarized brand story, brand words, brand colors, prop list, shot list, location addresses, etc.! This is a GAME CHANGER for elevating your client experience and it will keep you on track on photoshoot day so you can be sure to capture your clients vision. You can also find my customizable Branding Shoot Plan Canva template in the shop!

4. Spotify Playlist

I like to help my clients loosen up and have fun with music! Create a playlist or simply choose a Pandora station to jam to during the session! Don’t know what type of music your clients like? Just ask them! 🙂

5. Pack the night before

I like to get up and go on photoshoot day so I pack all of my camera gear, lighting, reflector, surfaces, snacks, etc. the day before!

I hope this helps you prep for your next shoot! Have questions? Feel free to comment below! 🙂
